"THE WAY HOME"

I don't mean Tokyo.
It is the joy and adventure of going back to the basics of the soul and finding nirvana.

The inspiration is the spirit of the trees and wondrous flowers I have encountered in the lush forests at the foot of Mt.Fuji and across the U.S. I wanted to express their peaceful, serene embrace and the awe I have felt in their presence. 

The soft marshmallow-like texture and pliable lightness of the white foamsheets which I handcut with scissors, enables me to create the lines and shapes I want, and add hints of warm colors. My watercolor series are the 2D translation of the inspiration.
